Yes, it's the last week of the summer farmers' market season, and what a good season it has been! Thank you to all my customers, old and new, for supporting me this first season back making pies. I appreciate you all so very much!
To celebrate the close of the season, I'll have lamb and feta hand pies at my last two markets. The ground lamb is from Fallen Aspen Farm, and the feta from Cherish Creamery. The lamb and feta pies include roasted potatoes (from Who Cooks for You Farm), crushed tomatoes, cumin and oregano. Rich and hearty, they are perfect for the onset of winter.
To round out my savory selection, I'll also have mushroom, potato, and leek pies and curried chickpea and butternut squash pies.
On the sweet side, I'll have a selection of apple, apple-cranberry, pear, pumpkin, sweet potato, and chocolate bourbon pecan.
Also, I've extended my Thanksgiving pie order deadline. The new deadline is Sunday, November 20. Get your pie order in by then!
Finally, though it is sad that the regular farmers' market season is coming to a close, don't worry, I'll be selling pies throughout the winter at the Bloomfield Winter Market! It's every first and third Saturday from December to March!
